On 1 April, Edvance teams took part in the 2026 DPNT (Nuclear and Thermal Generation Division) Innovation Challenge, alongside other EDF Group entities from the nuclear and thermal energy sectors. The event was dedicated to creativity, knowledge sharing and industrial performance.
Five Innovations Developed by Edvance
At the DPPI stand, five Edvance projects were showcased, each addressing a different industrial challenge:
- DIRECT US: a solution for the direct, real-time measurement of water plugs upstream of pressuriser safety valves. A non-intrusive and cost-effective technology.
- Nuclear Safety Trivial Pursuit: an engaging educational tool inspired by the Trivial Pursuit board game, designed to strengthen knowledge and understanding of nuclear safety principles.
- Accelerated Internal Flooding Studies: a set of standardised OpenModelica scripts enabling faster modelling and analysis of internal flooding scenarios.
- PSA – Initiating Event Builder: an automated generator
A Knowledge Management Innovation Award
The Nuclear Safety Trivial Pursuit project was recognised with a Knowledge Management Innovation Award, presented by EDF Group Human Resources in recognition of its contribution to knowledge capture and knowledge sharing.
Claire Chevreau (EDF Group Human Resources), Jean-François AT, Kim Lay and Jean-Michel Garcin (DPNT) visited the stand to present the award. Thierry Schall, CEO of Edvance, was also present to congratulate the innovators.
A Committed Team Effort
Behind these five projects are Cécile Cheviet, Sébastien Piantoni, Sébastien Vermuse, Francis Béranger, Patrick Lizée and Guillaume Raymond, who spent the day presenting their innovations and promoting Edvance's expertise across the nuclear and thermal energy sectors.
They were supported by Adeline Tsao (Innovation Manager), Victoria Lionneton (Innovation Apprentice) and Alban Rouville (Innovation Support Officer), as well as Maxime Herbillon and Amélie Raud from the MC4 Communications team. Congratulations to everyone involved for their commitment and achievements.
