On 14 April, the Nuclear Engineering Showroom hosted a visit organised in partnership with Proxité, an association dedicated to promoting equal opportunities by supporting young people throughout their educational and career pathways. This initiative was part of a programme supporting a MLDS class (Mission for the Prevention of School Dropout).
The visit was structured around two complementary activities. First, the students attended a presentation on careers within the EDF Group, highlighting the wide range of professional opportunities available, the diversity of career paths, and current and future recruitment needs. This was followed by an immersive tour of the showroom, where they discovered flagship projects, innovative technologies and the working environments that characterise nuclear engineering.
This hands-on approach enabled students to gain a better understanding of the realities of these professions and the skills they require, while opening up new perspectives for their future career choices.
Beyond providing an introduction to the sector, the visit aimed to:
- Raise awareness of professional fields that are often unfamiliar to young people;
- Provide guidance and insights to support career orientation;
- Showcase the diversity and breadth of careers within engineering.
These initiatives are fully aligned with our values. Promoting equal opportunities, encouraging diversity of backgrounds and fostering inclusion are at the heart of our commitments. Through visits such as this, we aim to help remove barriers, challenge misconceptions and demonstrate that engineering careers are open to everyone.
